Renault Winery is a recognized New Jersey State Historical site and the second oldest operating winery in the United States. The property currently consists of our hotel, Chateau Renault, our golf course, Vineyard National at Renault, a restaurant, House of Renault, a cafe, Cafe La Fleur, and of course our historic winery, which includes the largest wine tasting room on the east coast. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across multiple building systems and trades. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general facility maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and safely.  This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where versatility and hands-on skills are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems and equipment.

· Troubleshoot and repair lighting fixtures, outlets, and basic wiring.

· Conduct plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, clearing drains, and maintaining piping systems.

· Complete carpentry tasks such as framing, drywall repair, door and window installation, and general structural repairs.

· Prepare surfaces and perform interior and exterior painting as needed.

· Install, assemble, and repair mechanical components and equipment.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs.

· Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.

· Document completed work and report major repair needs to supervisors.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.

· Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.

· Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems.

· Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics is a plus.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.

· Good communication and organizational skills.

· Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Work Environment:

· Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Position may require standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.

· On-call availability or flexible scheduling may be required.
